Junior Air Quality Scientist / Engineer - Calgary
Millennium EMS Solutions Ltd. is a dynamic environmental consulting company offering outstanding opportunity for career advancement. Millennium is looking for an individual with strong engineering/mathematical aptitude, and an enthusiastic desire for learning and success. The candidate could be a fresh engineering/science graduate, or a recent graduate with less than two years experience. The candidate can even be an EIT or scientist in a non-environmental but still technical field considering a career change.
The successful candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Excel, well-organized with strong attention to detail, client-oriented with good communication and technical writing skills, able to work on multiple projects at the same time, and inherently eager to acquire new technical knowledge. Knowledge in combustion science or air quality or other environmental sciences is desired but not necessary. Strong consideration would also be given to those who are proficient at computer programming.
Immediate responsibilities will be to support the senior staff on a broad range of air quality tasks, such as air dispersion modelling, emissions inventorying, report writing, regulatory reporting, preparing plots/graphs, client liaison, and quality assurance/control. Ample opportunities will be available to the successful candidate (who will initially will be under supervision) to gain seniority, manage own projects, and take full responsibility/ownership of technical relations with the client.

Regulatory Specialist
Millennium EMS Solutions requires the services of a regulatory specialist in its Edmonton or Calgary office. The incumbent's experience will include the following:
- Degree in science, environmental science, engineering, or law.
- Knowledge of environmental regulatory requirements.
- Five years or more practical experience with project management and client liaison in the following areas:
» Experience with the preparation of environmental impact assessments, EPEA approvals, Code of Practice, and related regulatory applications.
» Experience communicating and negotiating with regulatory bodies (e.g. Alberta Environment, DFO, ERCB, etc.).
» Supervision of sub-consultants within various environmental disciplines.
- Ability to assess client needs to determine appropriate scope of work and budgets.
- Ability to research the environmental assessments and associated regulatory requirements for a given project.
The incumbent will have P. Ag., P. Biol., APEGGA, Law Society of Alberta, or equivalent professional membership from another provincial jurisdiction.
The position requires the ability to coordinate and produce high quality reports within strict timelines, in a demanding consultative environment. The incumbent will direct and evaluate the environmental information collected, prepare professional reports, and interact with clients.

Junior Level Environmental Scientist
Millennium EMS Solutions Ltd. (MEMS) requires the services of an environmental scientist in its Calgary office. The position requires 1 to 3 years of experience in reclamation or soil science including:
- Completion of file reviews and preparation of Phase I Environmental Site Assessment reports;
- Completion of Phase II Environmental Site Assessments;
- Completion of soil and vegetation surveys;
- Conducting site inspections of abandoned oil and gas leases;
- Preparation of reports including data management and file compilation.
- Demonstrated ability to make responsible decisions.
- Eligibility for membership with a relevant professional association / institute (AIA, APEGGA etc).

Hydrogeologist
Millennium EMS Solutions requires the services of a hydrogeologist with 3 to 5 years experience in our Calgary office. The incumbent's experience will include the following:
- Minimum three years experience in environmental assessments, water supply evaluations, contaminated site investigations and groundwater monitoring.
- Planning and implementation of field programs, including the supervision of the installation and testing of monitoring and water supply wells.
- Design and development of groundwater flow and transport models
- Demonstrated ability to make responsible decisions.
- Compilation, interpretation and report preparation of the data collected.
- Eligibility for professional membership with APEGGA.
The position requires a combination of field and office work in a demanding consultative environment. The incumbent will be expected to plan and supervise field programs, evaluate the information collected and prepare professional reports.
